Most people know who Lena Dunham is. Being the creator and one of the stars of HBO’s Girls, she is in the media quite a bit. It was just announced that she will be the keynote speaker at the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, Texas, in March 2014.
The conference will include 500 sessions with speakers ranging from innovative people in film, technology, or music.
Some other notable speakers at the event include Mashable‘s founder Pete Cashmore, Paranormal Activity‘s creator Jason Blum, the founder of Change.org Ben Rattray, Adam Savage of MythBusters, and founder of Brain Traffic, Kristina Halvorson.
The new addition to the conference this year is inviting innovative people in sports. FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver and Grantland founder and editor Bill Simmons will be featured. The reasoning behind this is to discuss how sports mixes with culture.
To bring the music element in, 200 bands from 27 countries will be performing as well. Some of these bands include Ghost Loft and Little Daylight.
If you register for the event before October 18th, you pay between $900 and $1375, depending on what you want. The closer to the event you get, the more expensive it is.
